The Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations' (JCAHO's) IMSystem is a comparative performance measurement system designed to support clinical quality measurement and management programs. It had been in use by more than 200 hospitals and is one of the measurement systems accepted by the JCAHO for participation in ORYX initiative to integrate patient care outcomes and other performance measures into the accreditation process. NHDS developed a version of the IMSystem and became an approved vendor for this software product, which focuses on obstetrics, cardiovascular, and perioperative care using a dozen different indicator measures. The IMSystem was purchased by another software vendor in 1999. Nevertheless, its unique underlying technology is incorporated into other Hii System products.
