Hii™ Treatment Guideline System
The Hii Treatment Guideline System is a clinical practice decision-support tool that uses established guidelines in an expert system to help evaluate a patient's problems and prescribe treatment. Data can be collected directly from the patient, as well as from the healthcare provider.

The current prototype focuses on acute lower back pain using guidelines published by the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR, which is now the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality - AHRQ). This software:
  • Helps diagnose muscular-skeletal problems or rule out of underlying medical conditions presenting as muscular-skeletal symptoms

  • Indicates when not to use costly special studies (such as imaging and lab tests)

  • Recommends treatment options and rationales

  • Provides follow-up assessments and recommendations.
This same product can be adapted to use any treatment guidelines from anywhere.

And, as with all Hii applications, any individual patient data obtained or generated by the Treatment Guideline System can be stored in secure, portable Hii Electronic Health Records. These data can also be stripped of identifiers and added to any databases; the aggregate data can then be used by Hii analytic modeling tools or other analytic software products.
